Come along on Saturday 19 October @ 1pm and join in the fun of shotgun. New shooters welcome, however if you have a group of 4 or more, please make contact with Alan Price - 0438 592 076, prior to the day. The club has a shotgun that can be used for visitors. All unlicensed visitors or participants inexperienced with shotgun shooting sports are to ensure that they have signed on, completed their P650 obligations, paid fees and are ready for the safety briefing before 12:45pm. Notwithstanding, all shooters need to be signed on and have fees paid before 12:55pm or otherwise advised by the range officer. Late arrivals risk being turned away unless they have made prior arrangements with the range officer. Fees: Members $25, Visitors $35. Ammunition can be bought at the range on Saturday ($10). Welcome for all to attend!

Shooting will take place this Sunday 13 October at the 100yd mound. A good chance to zero in rifles at this range. See you then!

Rd 3 of SEDRA will be held this Sunday 13 October @ Ipswich RC . Shooters are asked to arrive at 8am, for a 8.30am (QLD time) start. Murwillumbah RC requires minimum teams of 4 in both Target Rifle & F-Class Scope teams. Please let Alan C know of your availability.

Visitors who would like to come along and try Smallbore, Air Rifle & Field Smallbore Target Shooting (.22), are asked to register now, as limited places are available for our Saturday morning events from 9am. See costs within 'Info' tab on this website. Call Peter on 0407 290 530.

Will be held after fullbore this Sunday 6 October, at approximately 10.30am (NSW DST). This event involves 10 shots each in both prone position, as well as, either kneeling or sitting position, and a 5 shot rapid fire in 20 seconds. The club has a .303 rifle that can be used for visitors. A great, fun day is had by all!

Firearm Dealers, Clubs, Associations and Unions,

We wish to advise that Weapons Licensing have formed a specialised data cleansing project team, using our existing resources, to reduce our backlog of Notice of Dealer Transaction Forms (Form 10s) and Notices of Disposals (NoDs). This advice is issued as a courtesy to advise that Permit to Acquire applications will inevitably incur a short delay being assessed/issued up to around the 14-day timeframe.

As you may already be aware, Weapons Licensing processes in excess of 1 000 Permits to Acquire (PTAs) on a weekly basis and this in turn, has a flow on effect, resulting in a significant number of Form 10s and NoDs to be processed to support this continual flow of accurate data.

It has always been our intention to process PTAs as efficiently and diligently as possible, of course ensuring probity checks are conducted during this process. As a result, we were issuing online PTA applications within a week. However, given our new data cleansing process, which is expected to operate for several months, we ask that you/your clients be patient and understand that efficiencies are expected to be gained from this specialised team. In relation to Firearms Dealers we request during this period that all questions relating to Form 10s be answered in a timely fashion. This will reduce the length of time that this project team is operating within Weapons Licensing and return to business as usual.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this time, and request that you inform your customers of the short delays during this process.

Reminder to all members that membership renewals were due on Friday 24 May (over 2 months ago) for the 2019/20 financial year. Hardcopy forms have been & are available at the range. Please see range officer of the day to collect. You can also find this in the 'Membership' tab on this website. An email was also be sent with an attached copy. Please act promptly, as they are now overdue.

Due to a S.E.D.R.A Fullbore Teams shoot being held at Murwillumbah Range on Sunday 28 April, the next Field Class shoot will not be till Sunday 12 May at 8am.

Fullbore will return on Saturday 27 April @ 1.00pm from 700yds (preparation for SEDRA the next day).

When joining in the fun of Fullbore Target Shooting, the following safety procedures must be followed:

If in doubt... stop and observe what others are doing. The range officers aren't always obvious on the firing line but most shooters will stop and observe to see what is happening before moving their rifles to the firing line Note: The firing line is typically referred to as "the mound" due to the fact that it is usually an earthen mound.

All shoots from Sunday morning 7 April are back on normal Eastern Standard Time. Adjust your clocks!

A reminder to all members that the Annual General Meeting will be held at the range this Saturday 30 March from 11am. Take an interest in your great club by attending this annual meeting, to hear what is happening within all shooting disciplines offered. We look forward to seeing you then!

NRAA Safety Advisory.

Due to a recent incident which saw a member injured due to failure of a case, the NRAA would like to take this opportunity to remind members of the importance of ensuring that any reloading gear used in the process of manufacturing ammunition, is in good condition and free from mechanical or electrical defect and calibrated if required.

The NRAA would also also like to remind members of the importance of remaining vigilant during the reloading process, especially during the powder charge portion of reloading.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility.

There are a few date changes on our club calendar as a result of the Committee Meeting on Sat 21July . It effects only Shotgun & Military. Military will now move back to a Sunday shoot commencing at 10.30am on Aug 12, Oct 7 & Dec 16, for the remainder of 2018. Shotgun shoots have been cancelled on these dates. As of 2019, Shotgun will have approximately 20 Sunday shoots in total & Military 6 Sunday shoots in total. Please check club calendar on 'Home' page, to see these variations.
